Narcissists probably keep me in business, although I’d happily give them all a liberal douse of petrol and chuck a zippo their way.

Nothing gives me a buzz of electricity like seeing a once shell of a woman leave our doors, with a spring in their step, a chipper goodbye - constantly checking themselves in the mirror with a smile. Then there’s no stopping them. Revenge body.

Hell I did it myself l, although MY ex (post breakup!) actually surreptitiously CANCELLED my boob job because he found out on the grapevine I was having the op I always wanted. “No woman of mine is getting that done!”. He totally “forgot” we hadn’t been together for quite some time and I was not “his woman”. Thankfully.

I had to head out of state to get a pair of new ones (and they’re spectacular FYI), thanks @elitesurgical . We weren’t even together 😆

It’s like the disease of the 2000’s. Certain groups of girls that all look exactly the same. A tribe of the same blank faces. Blocked overly dark, super arched eyebrows. None of the original colour or shape left.

Same with the distorted , overly taut lips. No cupids bow, sometimes even unable to animate in a human fashion. Sausage like, stuffed with more and more filler - but they still say “oh my lips are actually really small”.

But they aren’t . They look stretched, and swollen - not sexy.

A wodge of extra cheek bone, that no anatomy has ever reasonably naturally approximated slapped bilaterally onto the face, like plasticene.

A chin pointed into an artificial peak, no longer feminine - more harsh, uniform and aggressive than soft or sexy.

The face no longer resembles anything that appears in nature’s faces grown in the womb. The owner often blind to it - the injector happy to facilitate the same (and especially in a recession).

You may argue that this is their choice. I’ve yet to meet anyone that actually enjoys this look. We’ve yet to correct or dissolve an overfilled face, and the patient not be tearfully overjoyed.

You are uniquely you. Please don’t lose that integrity that makes you so special. Good plastic surgery or aesthetics should be undetectable and make you look fresher and rested.

A few years ago, my tiny daughters saw a picture of my six form year & said “wow, you were really all ugly?”. I flinched in surprise, not least because actually my six form were considered a really attractive bunch.. a few models among us, most of us were un really good shape, and with a very wholesome vibe.

I couldn’t see what they saw. But back in the day, we didn’t really have skincare, the only hair dye available to us was “ Sun-in” or Henna ( so anyone with dark hair went temporarily ginger), gel or acrylic nails simply didn’t exist, we weren’t allowed to wear make up to school, nobody plucked their eyebrows, nobody curled their eyelashes, make up was “strengsten verboten ⛔️”, hair straighteners were not a thing, hair serum hadn’t been invented (so all of our hair looked like it had been brushed with a toffee apple), and zero fake tan. It’s fair to say, that quite a lot of us had very shit perms too.

Very slowly, I realised how damn ordinary we looked to my primary school children.

A sad day indeed.

Fast forward a few years to my elder daughter’s 13th birthday, and we had a huge disco in an inflatable igloo in our back garden - with a DJ. My kids looked cute and simple, sporty white dresses, and Air Jordans on their feet.

Half the girls that showed up, had fake lashes, hair extensions, acrylic nails, high heels, professional makeup, and one even had a tooth gem. What in the Great-Scott-Marty-McFly was this time travelling malarkey??

I remember the photo on the left being taken of me as a teenager, and remembered my grandparents & relatives cooing over “what a spectacular picture” it was. So, in the back of my head, although I’d not seen this image for a good 30 years - I remembered this school photograph as being “utterly smoking”.

Upon finding this little beauty again, I actually burst out laughing at how awks I looked.

I remember that Princess Diana flick fringe, that was laced rock hard with Elnette hairspray. When the wind took it, it lifted up like the wing flap of a plane, in one solid piece. I was surpremely proud of my look, teamed with a Benetton rugby shirt, & enough blue eyeliner & mascara to encourage daily conjunctivitis. Nice

Wouldn’t it be incredible, if a needle, a gifted doctor, premium product and an ethical clinic were all it took to make you feel like a whole new person? I wish it were this easy, but it doesn’t work like that.

Don’t get me wrong, the above can help in the majority of cases and often be exactly the tonic and confidence you were looking for.

(Providing that is, that it’s not the only thing you’re relying on when in a horrible situation. There is nothing worse than walking on eggshells the minute you walk through the door. IYKYK).

My team and I always talk about my “Spidey senses”.

Now, I’m not claiming to be a psychic or anything like that, of course not. But I will pick up a vibe or energy immediately, when a patient walks in the room. Something about the way they move, the way they hold themselves - all of their body language, how they talk about themselves - I sense vulnerability at 50 paces. In 16 years, I haven’t been wrong yet.

I almost don’t hear the words sometimes, I become so absorbed in what the energy and body language of that patient is telling me. Sometimes I will give a nod or a look, to one of the doctors that we shouldn’t be treating this patient, because they’re not in a good space to be having treatment.

Sometimes it’s dysmorphia, sometimes it’s just a deeply broken patient after a huge traumatic event. We often see people looking to perk themselves up after a horrific break up with a narcissist, the death of somebody they loved and can’t get over, or even the loss of a job and their self-esteem.

Of course, that’s not to say we won’t treat everybody, but sometimes it’s better to have a chat - so you consent to treatment when it’s not the only thing you’re looking for and relying upon to feel better about yourself.

Sometimes it’s as easy as “come on then, let’s give you that revenge face and f*** your ex!”.

They say those that have been bitterly disappointed, betrayed or even very ill sense it immediately in another, who knows - but it’s a gift. I’m really thankful to have, and it’s served me incredibly well over the years. 🥰🎁

We’re in love with these results, and it’s a good opportunity to see a face with filler animated, and still looking completely natural. I was trying to take her pictures, and a video, but we kept bursting and into giggles . Caroline, thank you so much for trusting us with your incredibly beautiful face, and thank you for making my day. ❤️🤣🤭😍

Fair to say that I didn’t have the kindest upbringing. You know the kind that involved relatives, that constantly belittled how you looked? Cruel stuff, labelled as banter and that I needed to not be so butt-hurt about it all. Those that laughed, that I had my dad’s jawline, or the lankiness of my uncles, or certain genetic traits that made me look less feminine, less attractive, and just… Well, less.

Kids in the 80s and 90s were especially brutal back then too. Ironically, I look back now and think I was utterly beautiful. But the point was of course, that I didn’t feel it at all. Not even a tiny little bit. I grew up thinking / truly believing that I was not a pretty, nor attractive person - despite earning a fairly solid income in the 90s and noughties as a model. I decided to become the best version of myself possible, at first by training hard & working out, and later discovering how to make the best tweaks that kept me looking natural.

Most importantly, I found a way to remove myself from the nay-sayers (family or not) and with age, & a modicum of success, I found confidence.

15 or so years ago, when I stumbled across a way of making a professional living from helping other people feel as confident, I honestly thought I had won the lottery. I didn’t give a fig about money at that stage, I had very little anyway, following a divorce. It was more important that I found something really special to do with my life, even though it started out as a hobby. I have not regretted it a day ever since.

I built a team of doctors, not only in this country but in four other continents whom I genuinely believed would do the same, (and they have!). The Consultant Clinic group was born (PS we open permanently in Paris in May, and Chicago in July 2025).

I always think things do happen for a reason, so at the end of last year, the looks and confidence cycle came full circle, when I developed full facial paralysis. Sure, I felt vulnerable and a little insecure about my new face, it didn’t stop me from going to work. In fact, I was back the very next day.

Work is, and will always been my safe place.

This was a real text from someone saying that huge overfilled and fake is better, which is obviously a very subjective viewpoint. And that’s okay. Sure it’s not our aesthetic ideal, but most importantly overfilling causes clinical issues as well. And don’t forget put first oath, and duty of care from our group of doctors is .”do no harm”.

in over a decade, I’ve never seen ANYONE not fall in love with the work of Dr Kevin. He works from Los Angeles, Mahanttan, Miami, Dallas - and from July - CHICAGO!!

Better yet, with my face on the mend from next month, I will be working with him in Miami and New York again. I’ve missed you buddy!

This was a real text from someone saying that huge overfilled and fake is better, which is obviously a very subjective viewpoint. And that’s okay. Sure it’s not our aesthetic ideal, but most importantly overfilling causes clinical issues as well. And don’t forget put first oath, and duty of care from our group of doctors is .”do no harm”.

in over a decade, I’ve never seen ANYONE not fall in love with the work of Dr Kevin. He works from Los Angeles, Mahanttan, Miami, Dallas - and from July - CHICAGO!!

Therefore, temporarily for a couple of minutes or rather enough time to make a quick video for the gram (just like the swelling from Russian lips, or the ol’ famous chin grab to make the bottom lip look bigger than it really is) - it’s all a big heap of steaming doo-doo.

Yet year in, and year out people jump on the bandwagon, then come to see us in floods of tears asking for us to fix it. Obviously, it’s up to you what you waste your money on, all we ever do is try and warn you.

What is the big win every single time, is decades of experience, from a solid set of doctors or medics, who do this full-time each and every day all over the world, and corrected not only their own mistakes but everybody else’s to the tune of thousands. Always with a premium filler, always with small increments over time, and always from an altruistic perspective where a third of our patients get turned away because it’s not right for them, or isn’t safe.

Often we need to dissolve the bad stuff first. But soft and safely wins the day. There is no alternative. We will be saying it for the next hundred years until we’re blue in the face.

She had glowing skin, a beautiful personality, really pretty hair, and literally perfect colouring. We built her lips up with 5ml over her entire lower third - instead of the horrible pointy fake nonsense we see all over the net.

You can’t just project the chin in the midline using little skill, or you will end up with an unnatural point. You need to project the chin, firm the pre-jowl, and then finally with a cannula - fan a very, very soft and elastic filler underneath the mouth for support and around the peri oral or canine sulcus area. Basically, what we want to do is mimic your exact anatomy with different layers of different molecular weighted filler. We take our time, and we do it properly. We actually placed zero filler in her lips, but she almost looks like she has.

Hollow eyes or an “A frame” deformity or actually a thing. Especially in Dubai, and the United Emirates. All races, and indeed faces can be completely different. We do find from over a decade of experience in Dubai, the Emirates, and the Gulf - typically that hollow A-frame and depleted temples are for more common than we often and find in American in Europe.

Having an oculoplastic surgeon as the lead of the whole group (that’s Dr Kevin, who works all of America ) has its massive advantages. He was one of the doctors that helped pioneer this for our group, and we’ve had the most remarkable results. It isn’t painful, there is literally no downtime, it lasts easily 10 years and then some. In fact, we’ve never seen anybody in our clinical group of patients that needed it twice.

We’ve had the most successful week in Dubai with @fayyhealth that we have ever had, in the entire decade long history of working in the Emirates. We literally haven’t had a single slot free, and I’ve worked until midnight every single day. James and I managed to work an entire months work of clinic into a week, but we get so booked up very quickly so please this is not a marketing ploy, if you don’t grab a slot genuinely you won’t get one. The problem with filler, is, that it’s the “bad and ugly” that does all of its advertising. Because the really really subtle, freshening , glowy talented stuff - well, you don’t know it’s injectables.

That’s kind of the whole point.

I am willing to bet my entire house, that somebody reading this has pointed at a natural looking woman (or man) and genuinely thought they had had absolutely no work done. Perhaps they actually believed, the old adage of lots of water, a healthy diet, fresh air, olive oil, horse riding etc etc ( repeat to fade) . The really amazing stuff is not detectable.

The distorted, lumpy, disproportionate - the witchy chins, the over puffed cheeks, the expressionless faces - THEY are the results that have the regular, common-place person run for the hill screaming “ THIS IS WHY I WOULD NEVER GET INJECTABLES!!”. The Lesley Ashes, the Lisa Rinnas and the Katie Prices ( all, we are sure; wonderful people) - are not typical of the work that has carried out every day by those flying under the radar and smashing it.

This patient had 16 mls of @maili_global administered in a little over three months, after a tricky decade of ill health, cancer, absolute resilience and a demanding job . She’s the damn best, and her face commanded the exact same.

Every single layer of her skin was treated methodically, with a less hydrophilic filler of the right rheology and modality, in the right plane and increments . Neurotoxin and Profhilo covering the very superficial layer, with high molecular weight filler placed deep onto the periosteum too. Attention to detail is everything with a face.

Doing this, and using a cannula, ensures that we are mimicking the anatomy from the bottom up 💪💪as well as being extremely safe and causing minimal trauma to the tissue so less downtime too. Winner winner, chicken dinner. ❤️

For anyone thinks that my clinics, just pop up easily in different countries and continents, think again. This one, has been an absolute b*tch to do - and we’re not there yet by any stretch.

1. French medical licenses are harrrrd to get, and of course we won’t practice without correct licenses and insurances. But that was the least of our problems.

2. We had a nightmare of a carpenter who decided to hold us to ransom for more money, only moments after visiting my relatively substantial home (that I have worked back breakingly hard for). PS he was a total knob, and deserves a post all of his own. Give me week or so…

3. The painter and team, we shipped over from England to get the job done perfectly and in timely fashion , lost the top of his van in the underground parking.

4. Right in the middle of it all, we had masked intruders attempt aggravated burglary at our home (again!). They failed and were arrested (yay for armed response).

5. I decided to do this whole thing, while significantly disabled with Bells palsy. It’s hard enough speaking English with facial paralysis, never mind fluent French.

6. I developed a complication from my lumbar puncture on the flight, on the way home and had to lie flat on the ground. EasyJet didn’t love me that day.

7. When I took my children to see the clinic, a pensioner next door, came to see what we were doing in *nothing* but a fur coat. Quite literally, fur coat, no knickers. My kids, at least, had an interesting anecdote for school the next day.

8. It got expensive quickly, so as my kids were getting new en-suites, and their basins and cabinets were expensive - I became practical and took them with me. Along with a chandelier. If you spy them, they’re all the way from Manchester!

However, business is hard. If it wasn’t, we’d all be doing it, (& I dare say I wouldn’t have developed Bell’s palsy in the first place). Always keen to be real, transparent and not only show my highlight reels, but the actual drudgery it often takes to keep pushing a business forward.

I used to hate Mother’s Day. If you’re infertile, without your own mother (or you have a kind of sucky one)… it’s the worst day ever. Social media, email spam, screams of mother-daughter bonds and new mums holding their littles aloft and proclaiming their elderly mothers as their moral compasses. That’s beautiful, but can be excruciatingly painful to read if you have neither.

And then, after nearly 40 years of yearning for a family… Lara came and flipped everything. She made everything a little brighter, more exciting, more interesting, a little more technicolour, if definitely more exhausting. My worst day as a parent, is always better than my best day without my daughters.

Mother’s Day is now my favourite day and I’ve more than earned the chance to finally enjoy jt. I love that they spend hours making my card from scratch, or write me poems, or pick me weeds and put them in a glass. I raise them completely differently than I was raised. They are never too much, too loud, too bossy. They are never told that sport is for boys, or that they should marry “a nice, rich man who will take care of them”. They are given travel experiences with me instead of material goods. Goals are celebrated, strength is lauded. They fight back and are encouraged to call out wrong, and that doing nothing in the face of that is a choice.

They are still so young and wholesome. I love that they will hold my hand and cuddle me in front of their friends. That if I turn up unexpected to collect them from school, their eyes light up in delighted surprise the same way as they did at nursery.

It’s Mother’s Day - but to me, this long awaited day is about Lara and Darcy. I will always be giddy with pride at the mere mention of their names - & whilst it took me 40 years to become a parent, it was worth the hard ass wait for the completion of my family. If anyone reads this that is still on that quest, don’t give up. It’s not how hard you try, it’s how many times - and dealing with the hard bits, with all the support you can. I hope that many of you that haven’t ever had the chance to celebrate Mother’s Day (yet!), have just had your last crappy one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Of course you really really need to use a premium filler, and by that we mean the more expensive types that are not as hydrophilic as the old school fillers that have more than had their day.. Which means of course, means as an injectoryou can sculpt without fear.

Importantly, you don’t need an awful lot of product, put the bare minimum of the right modality the exact planes they are deficient and no more. If you’re in doubt, inject slightly less, they can always come back. Always use a cannula.

Personal pet peeves are people that concentrate consistently on their lips and ignore the rest of their faces saying “ we don’t really like facial filler”, but just as an FYI your face actually includes your lips. Leave them alone and regenerate and rejuvenate the areas that need most.

We will say it until we are blue in the face, but always always always dissolve anything bad you’ve had before. There is no work around and it always has to be done. Put it off for as long as you like, but ultimately if you want to look perfect and the best version of yourself you’re going to have to get rid of it at some stage. Rip that Band-Aid off.

Don’t ignore your skincare. It’s the top surface of your face, and there is little point in making the rest of it beautiful if you don’t take care of your skin.

It has not been without hideous logistical red tape, and everything that could go wrong, going wrong! But determined we are because we know how many if you want this for you in Paris, using the same techniques, methods of administration, products and basically results as the now, world famous, CC.

We have kept the price is exactly the same as london, we haven’t bumped them to take advantage of you all - as we know it’s an economic crisis and we’re just happy to be here.

Some of you may remember that last summer I took my children to Portofino in Italy to stay at the @belmondhotelsplendido .

It was certainly one of the most beautiful places, we’ve stayed in. The only downside of these crystal clear waters, is no sand, and very sharp cobbled beaches. So crazy about swimming, I booked us all in to the Dolce and Gabbana Beach club.

The first person I saw, it was a very gorgeous @edgarmartin__ wearing a cute little Prada outfit and showing his friend. His friend smiled and said he looked good, but I could see Edgar was disappointed. So despite not knowing him at all, I said you look f*cking amazing by the way (because he did!).

He asked what I did for a living, I told him. He lit up like a Christmas tree and we talked all things aesthetics. I recognised his LA accent, and then told him I had a clinic in Beverly Hills. It was a match made in heaven. And when I met his stunningly beautiful husband @bychrismartin moments later, I knew we would be friends for life. Smart, beautiful, creative, what’s not to like? They left early, and gave my daughters the rest of their rental time on their hover board. So now my kids are actually obsessed with them and call them the gorgeous Dolce guys. 🥰🥰

I met up with him when I was in my Beverly Hills clinic, with our gorgeous Dr Josh. We did some dissolving before refilling perfectly.

Same time this year?

I always believe that what is for you doesn’t go by you, people come into your life for different reasons but if you’re meant to meet, you’re meant to meet.

Same time this year?

This is 53. 53 years of learning about life, huge gut wrenching disappointments, dizzying highs, and (hopefully) becoming an improved person by the year. 53 years of being both a well-travelled human piñata, and the luckiest girl alive.

The first thing I thought as my children kissed me sloppily awake this morning, was that I was still alive, still learning and grateful AF. Hell I’ve even got 80 per cent of my smile back! (Small gainz!). I’m physically lifting more than ever, and more than an even chunk of men at my gym. Actually.

It’s been decades since my own mother remembered my birthday (she doesn’t have Alzheimer’s, she’s just a bit of an ass hat), but by 8am I had received the most thoughtful little gifts and messages, from the nicest people I call home. Handmade cards from my daughters. True family are recruited not inherited.

I’ve learned more from the failures and kicks in the fanny, than the successes (there have been equal measures of both). I am raising 2 beautiful, bright, kind daughters that make me riverdance internally with pride every day. I have curated friends, neighbours and a team who radiate pure gold.

It’s been a tough-mudder of a year, but I will always choose to consider the highlights and feel gratitude. I’m not hardwired to do anything else 🥰 .

Whyyyy do so many injectors completely screw up the chin and jawline ? I KNOW you all know what I’m talking about, Instagram is littered with the same. Sharp angles you could gut a fish with, that weird overly-elfin pointed chin that is a dead giveaway, or looking like a crescent moon or a Punch and Judy doll from the side? We genuinely don’t understand why people even think this looks good. It looks weird and alien, when Essex is supposed to enhance what you have and be undetectable.

Sometimes people just have a disproportionately smaller chin, a little like this lady. Sometimes they have such a small mandible, and heavy buccal fat pad, that this little imbalance makes them look so much heavier than they really are at first glance.

They feel disconnected with this, they look after themselves, they’re not overweight but the face tells a completely different story.

These “B reels” were actually taken just hours before my whole face decided to shut down and stop working. I still don’t have movement back… and I’m four months into quite severe Bell’s palsy.

At first I was clearly devastated with my new face of stone, but four months has given me some very different perspectives.

I actually have grieved for my smile, it’s soul destroying not to have that lovely positive expression (even if you didn’t think it was a perfect smile to begin with). I hate when my children tell me wonderful news or show me something amazing they’ve made, but I cannot show how I’m feeling with my face.

But when this paralysis spread to the other side, and for a very brief few days, I thought I was confronting a terminal illness and leave my children without a mother - I suddenly didn’t really care about how I looked.

I noticed how few people with Bells Palsy, were comfortable with posting online and so here I am showing every inch of my vulnerability but hopefully giving you a little perspective too .

You may think you look terrible, but I assure you you don’t. You will age, you will change, and the things that matter the most are genuinely not what you look like. And I do appreciate the hypocrisy of somebody who owns the business I do in saying that!
